Rusal-owned Aluminium Smelter Co. of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot Abasi, Nigeria, is taking steps to further cut losses while aluminium production at its smelter is suspended. “Due to the ongoing crisis in the global aluminium industry, further disruptions in gas supply for ALSCON and non-completion of ALSCON’s connection to the national grid project, the management is taking further steps aimed at minimizing losses,” the company’s managing director Stanislav Kruglyashov said.
