US crude, condensate output hits 28-year high

US crude and lease condensate output climbed over 8.6mn b/d in August, a level not seen since July 1986, according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data. More than half of all output came from record output from the Permian basin, Eagle Ford shale and Bakken shale. The three development areas contributed 4.4mn b/d, with Permian output leading at 1.7mn b/d, the EIA said of the latest Petroleum Supply Monthly data.
