These challenges are exacerbated by the fact many assets are in service for up to 50 years. Issues include: no single source of truth for engineering information (El) across the plant lifecycle; inconsistent and differing approaches to standards processes and systems implementation affecting El across assets; late adoption of engineering changes through inefficient handover practices; and processes of locating, collecting, validating and accessing El are rendered inefficient.
