Chinese coal demand slow, but stocks low

Limited Chinese demand for coal is expected to fall in the short term as the country enters a seasonally quiet buying period, UK bank Barclays Capital said. Chinese and Indian demand has been limited recently, and focused on lower calorific Indonesian coal. The limited demand is expected to fall further in the short term as a result of seasonal buying habits and competitive domestic prices, the bank said.
