Unless specified otherwise, prices refer to the first month of each quarter up to 4Q85 and to the second month of each quarter up to 4Q92. Since 1Q93, prices refer to the monthly average of the quarter. Prior to 23 March 1992, All energy prices were determined by the central government, except for coal. After 24 March 1992, the government fixed only the maximum prices for leaded gasoline, diesel oil and heavy fuel oil. After 1 July 1996, unleaded gasoline (95 RON) was included in the maximum price regime and since 9 January 1997, heavy fuel oil prices are liberalised.
