摘要

The Bridging Model is a theory which can be used to predict the strength of a composite only based on its constituent properties. A remaining problem is how to define in-situ properties of the constituents. A previous work by Yao and Huang suggested that an in-situ transverse strength of the matrix can be defined by its monolithic counterpart divided by a stress concentration factor. However, the stress concentration factor therein was obtained based on an interphase model in addition to isotropic assumptions for all the constituent materials. In this paper, different imperfect interfaces and transversely isotropic fibers are employed. The stress concentration factors corresponding to these conditions are derived. Influences of various imperfect interfaces on a stress concentration factor are discussed.
