FEATURE: DOE, USDA and Navy Put US$510 Million into Growing Biofuels Industry

Energy Secretary Stephen Chu, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Deputy Director for Energy Policy at the White House Domestic Policy Council Dan Utech on August 16 announced the participation of the Departments of Agriculture, Energy and the Navy under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to work together with the private sector to move the biofuels industry to commercial scale over the next three years in order to produce advanced drop-in aviation and marine biofuels to power military and commercial transportation.
