It is no longer just the tech-enthusiast or gadget-happy who are interested in flexible electronic displays.This month,acclaimed German fashion designer Anke Loh unveiled her latest fashion collection sporting Royal Philips Electronics' Lumalive textiles.These fabrics contain flexible arrays of colored light-emitting diodes(LEDs)that can display messages,graphics,or multicolored patterns."Fabrics like drapes,cushions or sofa coverings become active when they illuminate in order to enhance the observer's mood and positively influence his/her behavior,"Philips says.The electronics,batteries,and LED arrays are fully integrated in the fabric and can be disconnected and reconnected for cleaning,Philips says.
