Sebaceous cyst is the most common tumor in dermatologi-cal clinics. The scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm are common sites for sebaceous cysts, although they may occur anywhere on the body. When we see white cheese-like foul-smelling material coming out of the skin hole, we easily believe that a sebaceous cyst is there below the skin surface. White cheese-like material, indicating production of keratin, does not necessarily mean that it is from sebaceous cysts. For example, we sometimes see cheese-like keratotic material coming out through perforation of subcutaneous metastatic lesions in squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). We recently experienced a case of maxillary sinus carcinoma mimicking a sebaceous cyst.
