摘要

THIS-STUDY aimed to assess the extent of genelic diversity detected by RAPD technique among 20 samples representing five cultivars of Egyptian date plam. These cultivars are Zaghloul and Samany (soft fruit), Al-Amry, Al-Aglany and Al-Sewey (semi dri fruit). DNA was extracted from young leaves. The PCR amplification was generated using 13 random primers (10-mers). The RAPD products were analyzed by electrophoresis in 1% agarose gels and visualized by ethidium bromide staining. A total of 849 fragmentsfrom all experiments could be enough for the identification and the evaluation of genetic similarities. To analyze the genetic distances within and between the different data palm cultivars a dendrograme displaying the genetic similarity among the genotypes was constructed.
