Editorial: the generation of high quality topographic data for hydrology and geomorphology: new data sources, new applications and new problems

摘要

This special issue presents a series of papers from a joint meeting of the British Geomorphological Research Group and the Photogrammetry Society (now the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society) held at the University of Leeds in January 2001. The meeting sought to bring together both those developing new sources of terrain data and those making use of those data in relation to geomorphological research. This special issue contains papers on a small number of the presentations and will give a flavour for the exciting way in which our ability to measure terrain, over progressively larger spatial scales, is allowing us to answer geomorphological questions that have not been addressed before.
