China's first US SPR crude oil cargo arrives in Qingdao

China's first-ever crude oil cargo from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve has arrived in the eastern China port of Qingdao in Shandong province, believed to be destined for independent refineries. A source from PetroChina International, or Chinaoil, buyer of the barrels, confirmed to SP Global Platts on Wednesday that a cargo of US SPR crude oil had just arrived and was to be discharged to bonded storage in Qingdao first while looking for homes at independent refineries.
