Laboratory experiments were conducted to study the effect of different concentrations (S, 0,25,50, and 100%) of textile dye industry effluent on germination and seedling growth of green gram (Vigna radiata LWiczek) varieties. Germination percentage,seedling length and biomass of six varieties of green gram seedlings were recorded. The dye industry effluent did not show any inhibitory effect on seed germination at Sower concentration (10%). But, the higher concentrations beyond 25% suppressed the germination. On the basis of seed germination and growth performance, the green gram varieties have been arranged in the following order,ADT-5
