A review of trends for road lighting

The visual information regarding obstructions on the road ahead and the state of the road is obtained by road lighting and automotive headlamps, but there are differences in their lighting effects. The superiority of the visibility provided by road lighting is a consequence of the ability to reduce traffic accidents. This report presents examples of modern road lighting including various lighting methods of improving safety, of protecting the environment and of conforming to the road characteristics.
