Despite setbacks, Posco to commence construction from April 1

Despite all setbacks, the State Government is hopeful that South Korean Steel major Posco's proposed 12-million tonne steel project at Paraclip would soon become a reality. The Centrally Empowered Committee (CEC) appointed by the Supreme Court said that Posco's entire project plan, including steel plant with captive mines and a port, should be taken as a single project for its 'ecological significance and rehabilitation plans'. However, the State Government as well as the company officials are hopeful that the observation made by the panel would not hamper the interests of Posco as well as the State Government.
