GSF's 1.5 Bn BHP extension

Drilling major GlobalSantaFe has signed agreements with BHP Billiton worth a combined estimated US 1.5 Bn to extend the contracts for two ultra-deep rigs in the US Gulf for additional four-year terms.The GSF Development Driller I semisub is scheduled to start work under its contract extension in June 2008 and continue until June 2012. The GSF CR Luigs drillship contract extension, meanwhile, is scheduled to begin in September 2009 and end in September 2013.
