E.ON bags Egypt stake

E.ON Ruhrgas has bought a stake in the NW Demiatta exploration licence in the Nile Delta offshore Egypt from Shell. The licence will remain operated by Shell Egypt (61%), with E.ON having 29% and GdF Suez 10%. “We believe this licence offers significant gas exploration potential,” said Dr Jochen Weise, member of the E.ON board.
