The industry is on the path to more sand use but how to achieve that goal varies with commodity price forecasts. Recent increases in rig activity are a welcome and positive sign that the market is coming back. June 2016 started with level rig activity only to experience the largest increase in weekly rig count that the market had seen in a year. However, completion activity was continuing to fall as operators waited for higher sustainable oil prices.
