UK Mermaid comes out dry

Nautical Petroleum has revealed that its Mermaid exploration well in the UK sector of the North Sea has proved disappointing.The 9/11c-13 exploration well was the second in the current drilling campaign and followed on from the successful Kraken appraisal well.Nautical said: "Well 9/11c-13 was drilled to 5,113ft(1,559m)and encountered excellent quality sands at Tertiary Heimdal and Maureen level.All depths were very close to prognosis,however,both the main Maureen target and the secondary Heimdal objectives were water wet."
