Supply surge leaves UK RMBS pipeline dry

The UK securitisation shutdown that started in March appears well and truly over with £3.75bn of paper placed across 11 deals since the market reopened in June. Five of those new issues were sold last week alone. But a second supply lull could now last for the rest of the year unless UK banks and building societies return: all but two of the new issues came from specialist lenders. And most of those non-banks with deals to sell have now sold them.
