The property sector is embracing offsite construction as a method of achieving the evermore stringent building regulations, coupled with a need to reduce unit costs and meet tighter build schedules. Innovation in the industry means that today's modular buildings can be as individual and unique as any properties constructed using traditional building methods. The increasingly stringent thermal performance requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes means that many within the new build sector are seeing offsite as a method of guaranteeing they can meet these improved performance levels, which includes achieving zero carbon. Specifiers, engineers and offsite companies are, therefore, working more closely together than ever before to address how future housing requirements can be met.
