While there are several Chinese manufacturers supplying some 50 rail car unloading systems to the domestic market, there are only a handful of international suppliers and competition is strong. As part of an integrated turnkey contract to construct a new export coal terminal at Muuga, Estonia, Germany-based ThyssenKrupp Fordertechnik delivered a tandem tippler rail car unloader to discharge the Siberian coal. Due to the extreme cold that can be experienced on the journey from Siberia in the winter, a thawing plant has been installed to ensure that frozen coal can be emptied from the wagons.
