The recent fire incident on a shuttle I train in the Channel tunnel is the third such incident in the past twelve years, each having major consequences, not only in respect of the damage to the Tunnel itself, the shuttle train and 25 or so of the vehicles being transported, but also to the business continuity of the operation itself, and those affected by the reduced service being provided.
