You may not have heard of it yet, but you surely will in time. When Castle Stuart Golf Linksopens in the summer of 2009 it will herald a new beginning for golf architecture in the UK. This innovative new design takes the game back to its roots in a spectacular setting and offers golfers of all abilities a taste of olde worlde charm by the banksof the Moray Firth. It is a long time since a new opening has been anticipated so much by the golfing world's cognoscenti. Those who have been privileged enough to see the site and perhaps play some preview golf, are united in their praise and enthusiasm for the project. This course will reach the higher echelons of course ranking systems sooner rather than later, and it will add another link to Highland golf tours which currently focus on Dornoch and Nairn. Castle Stuart will prove to be an equal partner in this area of golfing excellence and in time may even exceed the greatness which is rightfully heaped on Royal Dornoch by golfers from all over the world. It may come to be called Pine Valley by the sea, and this label in no way exaggerates the potential this links has.
