Total has spudded its first well on the Termokarstovoye gas and condensate field in Western Siberia, in which it bought 49% from Russia’s Novatek last year. The well is part of additional appraisal and development studies that Total and No- vatek plan to carry out to find more reserves, which according to current estimates stand at 47.3 Bcm of gas and about 10.3 million metric tons of condensate.
