Dong Restarts Siri Production

Denmark’s Dong Energy announced Sunday that it will resume production in several of its North Sea holdings. In August, Dong stopped production at its Siri field after cracks were discovered in a subsea structure connected to an oil storage tank underneath its platform (IOD Sep.4,p4). The adjacent Nini, Cecilie and Stine fields were also closed because oil produced in these fields is transported through a pipeline to the Siri platform. Dong has placed a temporary metal frame to support the subsea structure. The structure will be permanently repaired during the second half of 2010.
