Zidane Scores One for Norway

Germany's RWE has discovered gas at the Zidane license (PL435) in the Norwegian Sea, some 15 km northwest of the produc- ing Heidrun field and 35 km south of the Skarv field, which is due to start produc- tion next year. Preliminary estimates put the discovery's size at between 5 Bcm-18 Bcm (177 Bcf-635 Bcf) of recoverable gas and, according to RWE, there is a “good” possibility of finding more hydrocarbons nearby.
