TNK-BP said Monday that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Petrovietnam “as part of its strategy to expand its business internationally.” The deal is crucial for the Russian-UK venture, as it means the Viet- namese state firm will not exercise its pre- emption rights to the BP assets that TNK-BP wants to buy in Vietnam (IOD Nov.2,p7).
