Lukoil Output Inches up

Russia's biggest private oil producer, Lukoil, saw oil output average over 1.95 million b/d last year, including overseas production, 2.1% up on 2008. The increase results mainly from growing production from the South Khylchuyu field in northern Russia, which Lukoil launched in mid-2008 with strategic partner ConocoPhillips. Gas output dropped nearly 10% to 17.5 Bcm after Gazprom limited the volumes it accepted into its transport network because of lower demand.
