Assembly and publication of these tables were initiated by the Canals and Pipelines Section of the Canals Branch to expedite hydraulic computations for pipeline water distribution systems. The tables in this publication include the following pipe internal diameters in inches: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 28, 30, 33, 36, 39, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, 69, 72, 75, 78, 81, 84, 87, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114, and 120. Velocities, velocity heads, and retardation losses per thousand feet of pipe are given for pipe capacities ranging from 0.05 cubic feet per second in the 4-inch pipe to 790 cubic feet per second in the 120-inch pipe. The friction losses are based on Scobey's formula for concrete pipe.
