Sudan rejected a warrant issued Wednesday by the International Criminal Court in The Hague for the arrest of President Omar al-Bashir, its first against a sitting head of state, sparking fears of instability in the 470,000 b/d oil producer and renewed tensions in Darfur, where al-Bashir is accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
