Iran Inaugurates More South Pars Phases

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadine-jad dismissed US-led sanctions against the 4 million barrel per day Opec producer as "childish" as he hosted a ceremony at the Gulf port of Assaluyeh to inaugurate two more phases of the giant South Pars gas project. The event, also attended by Iran's oil minister, Gholamhossein Nozari, was held the day after US President Barack Obama extended an executive order that has been in place since 1995, which prohibits all US companies from any involvement in Iran's energy sector.
