Argentina's southern province of Neuquen, which produces almost half of the country's natural gas, has launched an exploration licensing round in areas be- lieved to be prospective for unconventional gas resources. Gas y Petroleo de Neuquen (GPN), the provincial gas company and licensing au- thority, has put 13 areas, with a total area of about 3,827 square kilometers, up for bid. The province plans to award licenses on Nov. 17.
