Seeking Clarity: Image sensors peer into a blurry future

YET ANOTHER OF THE MANY going-out-of-business local film-developing labs, one just down the street from my house, recently locked its doors for the last time. I can no longer find medium-format film locally; I need to mail-order it (once Fuse up the dozens of rolls currently residing in my freezer, bought last fall from a photographer who sold his film gear and went digital). I can't find 35-mm professional film locally, either, but I don't even try anymore; ever since last summer when I bought a DSLR (digital single-lens-reflex) camera, I've had no urge to shoot a single frame of silver halide.
