ADL doubles US manufacturing capacity

UK/USA - Alexander Dennis Inc (ADI), subsidiary of Falkirk-based Alexander Dennis Ltd, has doubled its North American manufacturing capacity with investment in a manufacturing hub in Nappanee, Indiana. ADI engaged a contract manufacturer, ABC Ameritrans, to produce double deck buses in Nappanee in September 2014. From December 29, 2016 ownership of the assets and the facility lease wholly transitioned to ADI, which has taken over the entire operation. ADI says it plans to invest more than USD1.5m in to transform the existing facility with an improved customer reception area, office space and team member facilities including refurbished break rooms. The project is due for completion by March 2017.
