摘要

The potential for physical activity (PA) to reduce long- and short-term sickness absence and prevent accidents in the workplace is well recognised (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, 2008) and current UK guidelines recommend that adults should participate in at least 30 minutes of at least moderate intensity PA on five or more days of the week to improve and maintain health (Department of Health, 2004). Despite widespread health improvement efforts, estimates suggest that 63 per cent of men and 75 per cent of women in England fail to meet guidelines for PA (Department of Health, 2006).
