Elastomer composites with magnetic properties (magnetoelasts (MEs)) are being used increasingly widely in modern industry [1, 2]. A comparatively new but considerably significant and high-volume area of application of MEs is their use in the latest motor vehicle models [3, 4]. Earlier [4] the need to use MEs in the cassette gaskets of motor vehicles with a so-called magnetic encoder was shown. These gaskets, besides their traditional role of sealing rotating shafts, function as gauges for the indicating, regulating, and control instruments. The magnetic encoder makes it possible to determine the speeds of the motor, the position of the crankshaft and cams, the acceleration, etc. The magnetic properties of the elastomer composite are necessary for reading of information in so-called Hull gauges [5].
