Challenge to ultra-clean diesel engines

The automobile has undergone continuous improvements from the time it was invented down to the present day when it plays a key role in supporting social and economic activities. At the same time, however, various global environmental issues related to the automobile use are becoming more serious, including air pollution and energy concerns. One of approaches to the clean IC engines is to reduce NO{sub}x and particulate matter of high-efficiency DI diesel engines. This paper discusses the possibility of obtaining ultra-clean diesel engines.
