Endocervicosis and endosalpingiosis of the urinary bladder: A case report

A 39-year-old female presented with several month history of constitutional symptoms of nausea, abdominal distension, breast tenderness and weight loss. She had undergone a left salpingo-oophorectomy for an ectopic pregnancy and elective caesarian section more than 10 years prior to admission. Pelvic ultrasonography identified a focal 2.9x1.5x3.3 cm mass at the posterior wall of the urinary bladder, with calcification but no vascular perfusion. The sonographic appearances were suggestive of transitional cell carcinoma and hence cystoscopy was performed. This revealed an abnormal area within the urinary bladder anterior and lateral to the left ureteric orifice.
