Theeagleowl(Bubobubo)isthemainleporidpredatoramongnocturnalraptors.Althoughitsroleasanaccumulatorofleporidremainsinarchaeologicalsiteshasalreadybeendemon-strated,thetaphonomicsignatureofthispredatorhasnotbeenproperlycharacterised.Herewepresenttheanalysisoftwosamplesofmodernleporidremainsrecoveredfromeagleowls’nestswiththeaimofcontributingnewdatatothissubject.Resultsshowthatalthoughvariabilityoccurs,theobservedanatomicalrepresentation,breakageanddigestionpatternsallowustodistinguishthisraptorfromotherrabbitpredators.Finally,severalcharacteristicfeaturesarenotedtodistinguisheagleowlsasagentsofleporidboneaccumulationsinthefossilrecord.Copyright2008JohnWiley&Sons,Ltd.
