摘要

A Laboratory study was conducted to monitor ground water quality of Wakad and Tathwade sites of Pune city by examining various physiochemical and biological parameters like p~H , alkalinity, turbidity, conductivity, cations, anions, MPN etc. It has been observed that ground water of Tathawade area is comparatively harder than Wakad area and samples of both the areas are alkaline in nature. A discussion is presented on the potability and other uses of this "matrix of life" by comparing the data with WHO specified safe parameters.
