Upgrading the competitiveness of east Asia through the more rapid development of human resources

The countries of the East Asian region have experienced, over the last 20 years, a period of strong economic growth. Whilst foreign investment is recognized as a major contributory factor, member countries of the region are now actively building strategies for mutual advancement. A firm foundation for the future development of economic coexistence in the region needs to focus on: further inward investment, improvements in communications, transportation, use of energy and natural resources. HR encompasses the provision of state-of-the-art technologies and quality controls, as well as the need to develop the capabilities of personal - both managerial and shop-floor, in order to provide the high quality goods requires by developed countries.
