Traumatic tricuspid regurgitation with ruptured chordae tendinae caused by a punch in the chest

Traumatic tricuspid valve regurgitation (TTR) is believed to be a rare complication of nonpenetrating chest trauma and the main cause is high-speed automobile accidents [1-3]. The cardiac symptoms depend on the degree of tricuspid valve regurgitation (TR) and trans-thoracic echocardiography (TTE) is a very useful tool for diagnosis. We report here a case with tricuspid chordae tendinae rupture caused by a punch in the chest.
