摘要

The majority of physicians and health care practitioners are aware about the Hippokratian (460-377 BC) quote: "Better prevent, than cure". Prevention is a cornerstone of good health; and cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer prevention has long been a strategic target for many worldwide, international and national organizations and societies [1,2]. However, the prevalence of CVD and its risk factors continuous to be at high rates, in the majority of the countries around the world. Moreover, it has been suggested that limited knowledge and information, as well as negative health behaviors and attitudes, about these factors have been associated with higher CVD risk, but also with lower likelihood of making effective lifestyle interventions; whereas, awareness and knowledge of healthy behaviors may motivate people to make successful changes.
