The French National Alzheimer disease plan 2008-2012.

The French AD National plan 2008-2012 is the third National plan on AD. The plan is divided in 44 measures covering several important areas such as to improve diagnosis, to provide better treatment support, to help more and more effectively, to speed up research.The plan has been officially presented in Nice by president N Sarkosy on 1 February 2008. This date is important because preceding the economic crisis and because the funding of 1.6 billion euros over 5 years has been secured.The medico-social aspect represents over 1.2 billion euros. The health insurance system and the National Fund will provide funding for the Autonomy of Elderly and Disabled People (Caisse nationale de solidarite pour l'autonomie des personnes agees et des personnes handicapees, CNSA).
