In recent weeks there hasn't been a day that has gone by without a 'news' story examining the bizarre lifestyle of actor Charlie Sheen. And while many people are either amused or bemused by his erratic behaviour-he inherited 1 million followers in one day on social networking site Twitter-it should be remembered that this human being is having a very public breakdown and struggle with an addiction. What's more, the public are being encouraged to laugh at him and mock him, enhancing the stigma that many people with a mental health condition, or addiction, may face in society.
