Bring back the E-grade nurse

The current state of the nation is one of variability. Agenda for Change has been implemented across the country with significant variation, and without clear development plans, or clarity on what is expected of the senior staff nurses. As a result, in the majority of settings, the largest part of the nursing workforce is progressing through the pay spine without development. More importantly, we are lacking a robust succession plan, and are failing to value and develop our clinical leaders of the future.
