摘要

A significant advancement in wound care has been the development of advanced wound dressings that manage moisture levels in wounds, and optimise the wound environment to take advantage of moist wound healing. However, there is some confusion when wound care providers consider what an adequate level of tissue hydration is, and the risk of developing maceration. At a recent symposium, speakers and delegates discussed the role of tissue hydration in wound healing and more than 100 Tissue Viability Nurses and other wound care clinicians were introduced to a NEW wound treatment program — HydroTherapy - designed to harness the benefits of tissue hydration to promote healing. In March 2016, HARTMANN hosted a clinical symposium in association with Journal of Wound Care; 'A NEW Perspective on Wound Cleansing, Debridement and Healing' —to discuss the importance of hydration in wound healing and to launch the HydroTherapy wound treatment programme; a unique therapy approach using HydroClean plus? and HydroTac?, two Hydro-Responsive Wound Dressings? (HRWDs?) developed to take advantage of the benefits of optimising wound hydration to promote effective wound-bed preparation and support epithelialisation,
