Students' Preferred Types of Pedagogical Agents Based on Students of Different Anxiety Levels

This study investigates students' preferred types of pedagogical agents based on students of different anxiety levels. Convenient sampling method was used in this study and there were 123 undergraduates who were registered probability and statistics subject involved in this study. Instruments used in this study was online post-questionnaire, which conducted after students had using the system. There were 6 pedagogical agents in the system, categorized into 3 groups which is in gender group, age group and ethnic group. Data collected will be analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. Results showed the descriptive statistics which include frequency and percentage of the appearance of pedagogical agents preferred by students of different anxiety levels. Findings showed that in terms of gender group, low and average anxious students preferred male pedagogical agents whereas high anxious students preferred female pedagogical agents. In terms of age group, low, average and high anxious students more preferred young pedagogical agents compared to old pedagogical agents. Meanwhile, three types of anxious students preferred pedagogical agents of same ethnicity which is Asian compare to Western pedagogical agents. For male pedagogical agents, three types of anxious students were most preferred Anthony whereas Keisha was the most preferred female pedagogical agents by three types of anxious students. This findings had significant to future researchers on developing a suitable pedagogical agents based on different anxious students.
