摘要

In order to minimize the overall cost of elevating material, bucket elevators must be designed, operated, and maintained correctly. The most critical issue controlling the cost of elevating material is accurately determining the best time to replace the carrying medium. Making this determination for chain by using elongation measurement is easier than it is for belts. With today's technology chains can be used for elevators up to 60 m tall. Above this height belts must be used. New chains currently being developed will allow chains to be applied in taller elevators extending the range where chain elongation techniques can be used to change conveying medium at the optimum time.
